Course Description

The Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of English language and literature. This program is an interdisciplinary study that focuses on the English language and its literary works, history, culture, and linguistics. The course is structured to equip students with the skills to critically analyze various genres of literature, write persuasively, and communicate effectively.

The curriculum of the B.A. English Language & Literature program is divided into three major components: core courses, complimentary courses, add on courses

Core Courses:

Core courses are the fundamental subjects that provide a foundation for further study. These courses cover the following areas:

• English Literature: An overview of the historical development of English literature, from its beginnings to the present day. This includes the study of major literary movements, authors, and genres.
• Linguistics: The study of language, including its structure, meaning, and usage. This covers the analysis of spoken and written language, grammar, syntax, phonology, and semantics.
• Creative Writing: The exploration of various writing styles and techniques. Students will learn how to write effectively in different genres, such as fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama.
• Critical Analysis: The study of critical theories and their application to literature. This course will teach students how to read and analyze literary texts using a range of critical approaches.
